Up for auction is a 1968 Zippo lighter, inscribed with the owners name, unit crest, and citation. It is in carried condition, with the typical scratches, pitting, rust, etc. attributable to Vietnam being present. On the lid on one side of the lighter is engraved Col. Richard F. Thormure, and on the body below "1st Army HAWK Kill in South Vietnam". HAWK was a surface to air missle system. On the opposite side is his unit crest (engraved and colored-not applied), with "Hon Tre Island" at the top of the crest, and "Vietnam" at the bottom of the crest. The actual crest has the words Undique Venimus below a field of five missles. The bottom of the lighter is marked by the name zippo in cursive script, along with three slashes on each side. Only issue with the lighter is that the wheel doesn't turn, and I didn't want to force it. Penetrating oil and elbow grease should correct the problem, but I'll leave that up to the new buyer. Please inspect pictures closely, as this is a 40 year old item. No reserve auction. No buy-it-now. Shipping will be a flat $7.50 via USPS, with said amount including delivery confirmation and insurance. Thanks for looking, and have fun with the auction. This was going to be a US sale only, but due to overseas interest, I will ship worldwide. Shipping will be actual cost plus $2.00 packaging cost. Declared amount for customs will be actual purchase price/insured value, and not reduced. Overseas buyers required to use paypal. Thanks
